Les carrières des rappeurs américains sont souvent météoriques : surgis de nulle part, les artistes atteignent les sommets des ventes en quelques mois et souvent retombent, étourdis par cette gloire subite et ses corollaires, dans l'anonymat et la survie. Lil Wayne, l'un des fleurons du rap de la Nouvelle-Orléans, n'est pas de cette catégorie. Avec une carrière commencée dès l'âge de douze ans, entre Hot Boys (le super groupede son label Cash Money) et ses nombreux albums solo qui ont suivi, qui tous ont été des succès, depuis Tha Block Is Hot en 1999, jusqu'à la série des Tha Carter qui décrochent des n°1 et se vendent par millions, le succès de Lil Wayne fait montre d'une certaine constance, à l'heure où le marché du rap donne des signes de coma. « Yeah! » ou encore Daddy Yankee (remix de Gasolina). Lil' Jon s'est en premier lieu exprimé sur le plan régional ( sud des U.S.A) avec des collaborations ou productions avec notamment Ying Yang Twins, Petey Pablo, Trick Daddy, Lil Scrappy, David Banner, Ciara, TLC, Brooke Valentine, Pitbull, Young Buck du G-Unit... Il a également sorti des lps avec son groupe The East Side Boyz qui ont eu un grand succès au niveau national et international lançant la vague South avec entre autres l'hymne du crunk « Get Low » avec les célèbres Ying Yang Twins ( apparu sur la bande son du jeu vidéo Need For Speed Underground (EA Games), ou encore « Throw it up ». Il prépare My Ride International avec Fat Joe. Lil Jon possède également une chaine "bling bling" sur laquelle est mentionné « cRuNk AiN't DeAd ».
Il est également le principal représentant de sa boisson énergisante, le nouveau Crunk Energy Drink qui est aussi le titre de l'un de ses albums. Un nouvel album pour 2008 qui s'intitulera Crunk Rock devrait sortir en 2009. L'énergie du crunk réside dans ses instrumentales aux basses très lourdes au détriment des paroles.

Christopher Maurice Brown est né à Tappahannock en 1989, une ville de l'état de Virginie sur la Côte Est des États Unis. Il a vu sa carrière prendre son envol en 2005 avec son premier album éponyme. Son premier single est Run It, produit par Scott Storch. Il a écrit des chanson pour Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears...
Il reçoit le prix de meilleur Révélation de l'année en 2006 lors des Soul Train Music Awards, puis reçoit trois autres prix au American Music Awards, dont celui du meilleur artiste homme de l'année 2008[1], et enfin il reçoit le prix du meilleur artiste masculin en 2008 au MTV Vidéo Music Awards. Chris Brown préfère chanter des pages de son journal intime (la peur, les joies et les ratés de ses premières fois adolescentes) plutôt que de danser avec des « poupées siliconées ». Il est également apparu dans le film This Christmas, Steppin' dans la série The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (La Vie de Palace de Zack et Cody)

I will say this first. I listen to punk rock and not rap. the rap i have seen was on mtv or vh1 and therefore cannot judge it. However, those of you who are judging it need to listen to at least 5 minutes of 6 differnt rap artists before you can say anything about it. if you still hate it after doing this then shut up, keep your thoughts to yourself, and be tolerant. just like in punk rock most of the stuff that is played on mtv and vh1 is PROBABLY media garbage. the music that is underground probably has more meaning to it. for those of you that say rap is only about having sex with women, and shooting people than you you haven't heard other good rap songs(eminem's mockingbird and many others). So before you judge anything look into it not just the what you see from its cover.
a punk rocker, a rap fan and a poser are at a concert. rap rapper is opening for a punk band.
(poser): what the hell is this??!!
(rap fan): hey its called rap, you got a problem with it??
(poser): all rap is garbage. it has no meaning to it. so why dont you go and listen to your half a dollar and get raped.
(punk rocker): dude have you even listened to rap??
(poser): silence
(punk rocker): no i didn't think so, and if you think that you look cool by making fun of rap and pretending to be punk, then you should know that you only look stupid.

Rap is a music genre.Its hated by many people that believe in the stereo type that only blacks make rap and its always about shooting cops, drugs, money and sex. Which leads to another stereo type that says all blacks like rap...
1.Not all blacks like rap.
2.Rap's not only for Blacks.
3.Not all rap is about money drugs and sex...
4.Not all people who like rap are black
People who don't like rap, usually say
"Rap is crap that has artists like 50 Cent."
These are people who know nothing about rap, and judge it by what they see on TV.
If you REALLY know what rap is then you'd know 50 Cent sucks balls and isn't a good rapper at all.See the people who like rap, and actually understand rap know 50 Cent is not a good rapper.Rap is poetry, despite what any other person says. Rap is like poetry with attitude,poetry with a bit of gangsterism. Look at Mos Def. That is a real rapper. Somebody like 50 Cent or Cassidy has nothing on somebody like Mos Def.
Most people say that rap degrades women. I don't really think so, because people need to realize..
